Such a drastic lack of empathy or awareness of the situation shows a profound lack of leadership skills from the selfishness.

You can view communism in terms of "selfishness" like this too.

Those are "superficial" social issues compared to the deep underlying ideas she had: an obsession with limited government and unfettered capitalism, individual selfishness and a conscious denial of empathy for minority and underprivileged classes.

Selfishness, while a totally legal choice, likely won't be rewarded.

Selfishness is a much more reasonable assumption.
