RIM and Bombardier are the only ones I see on the TSX 60 and the former is in its death throes.

But the pessimist in me also believes that Bombardier will do their best to prevent that technology transfer!

I have flown on many intra-US flights on non-American planes (including Airbus, Bombardier and even Brazil's Embraer)...

And of course Bombardier IS profitable (forward P/E of 9.71 on the stock).

Most Canadians are aware of how Bombardier gets a large amounts of subsidiaries.

And Bombardier will have their opportunity to compete on the next project.

If Canada refuses to allow Boeing to sell aircraft to Canadian airlines, is it still ok for Bombardier to sell aircraft to US airlines?

Embraer and Bombardier both have planes that sell well.

The aircraft market is global, and I can't fault Canada for supporting Bombardier in a manner similar to how their competition is subsidized.

Subsidisation is a large part of the Canadian economy so if you were to ask any alert person here if Bombardier was getting subsidised, it would range from "probably" to "yes".

Seems to me with the level of subsidy Boeing/Airbus/Bombardier receive, why aren't they just nationalised.

It's useful to note that Brazil is home to Bombardier's primary competitor, Embraer.

Much like Canada spied on Embraer to further Bombardier's interests, I wouldn't be surprised to see the US doing the same.
