This article discusses the release of the Open Well-Tempered Clavier from the point of view of an open-source, free-software ethos.

I will especially vouch for Andras Schiff's recent recording of the Well-Tempered Clavier as an alternative choice.

I've convinced a few people who were fans of rock guitarists like Blackmore, Malmsteen, Rhoads and EVH to listen to teh Prelude #2 in Well tempered Clavier and describe the commonality.

That's what the Open Well-Tempered Clavier provides!

The well-tempered clavier is good coding music.

In that context, it's a huge win for libre software to have MuseScore running strong, with the best release ever, and other recent milestones like the completion of the Open Well-Tempered Clavier project.

Totally OT, but in French the word "clavier" means "keyboard", so I thought it was about a new kind of keyboard been released.

So, anyone reading this: If you listen to Gould playing (say) the Well-Tempered Clavier or the Goldberg Variations and find it too mannered or mechanical or can't get past his humming, try Schiff or Richter or Perahia or someone more "mainstream".
