This would be a compelling story if Neil Peart's predecessor John Rutsey was getting an equal share of revenues from albums after '74, or if you believed that Neil Peart would happily concede his share of future Rush revenue to any drummer that replaced him.

The obvious answer might be that Geddy Lee and Neil Peart in particular are both widely recognized as being extremely technically talented musicians, giving Rush something that other formulaic bands cannot fall back on...

And then, if we grant that Peart is the best of the best, the 100 names that would follow in any sane list, Lars is no where to be seen.
