The microcomputer is by far the longest living of all generations, having survived through three decades.

According to Wikipedia, Osborne 1, the first commercially successful portable microcomputer, released in 1981 weighed 10.7 kg (23.5 lb).

Alpha Micro, while perhaps not exactly a consumer PC company, is a microcomputer company from those days that's still alive.

It's one of the best things that has ever happened for independent developers since the microcomputer.

Somehow, the microcomputer industry has assumed that everyone would love to have a keyboard grafted on as an extension of their fingers.

"Stable, never needs rebooting" is already the case for big iron and mainframe systems, among plenty of standard microcomputer server racks.

Well to be fair, and in terms of notability for the purposes of the article, the Osborne 1 was the original "commercially successful portable microcomputer" [0] you could run CP/M on with disks and a proper monitor.
