That sounds useful, I use jekyll and have to roll my own revving via weird customized jekyll plugins.

Back up your blog and do the Jekyll import, and see if it’s worth switching to you.

Something like Jekyll creates easy to maintain, and optionally very low tech, sites of almost any size.

It would be nice if everyone standardized the folder and data formats on jekyll.

Also, markup errors are silently swallowed when running jekyll --server --auto.

Nikola, Pelican, and Jekyll are frameworks built around a similar philosophy.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean, but if you run jekyll --server --auto while in development any small change you make gets automatically regenerated and it only regenerates affected files.

I picked Jekyll cause it works out of the box with github pages.

I played around with Jekyll a bit and while it's cool, there were a few things I didn't like, such as the fact that you're limited to one "posts" feed, rather than being able to easily publish arbitrary content and have multiple feeds.

I've been asked by some very mildly technical designers to write up how to use Jekyll (especially with GitHub Pages), so until I get around to doing that, I'm gonna' send them to your post as a "here's basically what you might have to look forward to".

Jekyll and octopress out of the box with their 'standard' themes are still quite bloated.

Jekyll is a promising tool, but not having tags is a pain.
