The Maasai are not known for their height, it's the Dinka (remember Manute Bol?) of South Sudan.

When it comes to height, you end up with the Pygmy tribes in the Congo basin and the Dinka along the Nile basin.

I'd like to think I'm pretty good at picking out what languages people are speaking but Dinka is really hard.

I was literally thinking about the Dinka tribe from Sudan (who are very tall on average) and the Pygmy tribes of the congo (who are very short on average).

For example, males in both the Tutsi and Dinka ethnic groups average nearly 6' tall, despite living in areas where malnutrition is/was widespread and alongside other groups that are much shorter on average.

The Dinka sample is recorded off the radio or phone and is very difficult to hear as well (It's not like I really know what Dinka sounds like, but if it were easier to hear I could at least do a better job of eliminating the other options).

Compare the pygmy Mbenga people of Cameroon with the Dinka people of South Sudan, and you'll find two "black" populations with a two foot height difference and totally different genetics.

I'm easily able to break 1000 points but some of those African languages (Dinka) are really hard!

'My bad' may have come to the US via basketball player Manute Bol, from the Sudan, whose native language is Dinka.

Some African groups (such as the Maasai and Dinka) are known for having really tall people, but they don't have countries of their own, so they disappear when averaged with their shorter countrymen.
