Hearing Debussy playing Debussy is magic enough for me.

For the same reason, it's impossible to listen to the music of Debussy and Delius in the same way it was heard when it was new.

I learned about this a few years ago and was delighted to hear some actual performances by Debussy of his own pieces.

Brahms was tonal, but Debussy allowed atonality in music.

Maybe Massenet sounds more like Debussy or Ravel!

I've met people who genuinely like stuff like Debussy and Ravel.

Or is this just another bogus claim, like the one UMG made against the Esoterica channel recently against their own recording and arrangement of a Debussy piece that's 150 years old?

This is why a better acronym for IDM is Information Dense Music, it's less pretentious and it explains why it's very close to noise;) Of course, I'd argue Bach and Debussy are very information-dense too but they somehow manage to stay uncluttered.

Ravel and Debussy's piano music is barely one step removed from jazz.
