Related fun fact: the two types of B12 you typically find in stores are cyanocobalamin and methylcobalamin.

Especially in severe cases, anecdotally I’ve seen people not make progress with the standard cyanocobalamin injections, but then make huge progress with methylcobalamin injections.

In addition, some vitamin forms are actively harmful, such as the very common vitamin B12 form, cyanocobalamin, which releases cyanide as it becomes bioavailable.

If B12 is packaged as "cyanocobalamin" it's an inferior vitamin.

If it says, "cyanocobalamin", you got the cheap stuff.

The amount of cyanide found in cyanocobalamin supplements tends to be small, but the body still has to do extra “work” to remove and eliminate the cyanide molecule.

When it is fortified, the vitamin B12 (commonly cyanocobalamin) is produced separately and then added to the yeast." Furthermore, fortified all purpose flour is not the same as fortified nutritional yeast.

Looking at the cost of Cyanocobalamin, it appears to be around $1000/kg.
