Both of these flaws relate to how toric lenses work: they're weighted to maintain their orientation.

This is common because toric contacts are more expensive, more difficult to put in, less breathable, and fall out easier.

And then it adds a bunch of nonsense about it being a novel toric code.

So as companies started to innovate and lower cost, single vision non toric IOLs became cheap enough for insurance to cover.

This required me to get toric lenses and they were much, much more expensive.

My understanding is that even non-toric RGP lenses can correct some degree of astigmatism.

If it is toric and for astigmatism it will say so on the box- many people have it in only one eye, so the boxes will be different, and only one will say toric.

If you can wear toric contacts or get the prescription inserts then it's fine.

Astigmatism with soft contacts means toric lenses, which have a few annoying "quirks".

Toric lenses align themselves, the mark is for visual inspection by the doc while in the eye.
