Please explain me why Crimean Tatars have been kidnapped, murdered, interrogated, and repressed since Russia took over?

Among other things, the statements of Crimean Ukrainians and Tatars who have since then fled the place?

But the Tatars are pro-Ukrainian, and many of them fled when the Russians took control.

Why would Tatars vote for independence of tiny state where they will still be a minority, maybe even the persecuted minority.

Those who remained are being harassed, and there are Tatars who were even denied re-entry to Crimea after having traveled to Ukraine.

Three main nationalities in Crimea are ethnic russians (1.5m), ukrainians (500.00) and tatars (who actually lived in Crimea, before Stalin repressed them in 1944-1950).

Yet, at Donbass and Crimea Ukrainians and Crimean tatars are threatened.

No one ever complains about the Turks or Tatars or Mongols or Huns or Aztecs or Arabs or a thousand others...all monstrous in their time.

Though still a lot of Crimean Tatars are living there now.

Moscow only came to prominence because the Tatars/Mongols burned other great cities of the time.

Yeah, that's why they are engaged in genocide against other peoples - Georgians, Ukrainians, Crimean Tatars, Chechens, etc.

Ukraine was the frontier region (hence the etymology of the word from old Slavic), and it's been contested by Russia, Poland, Lithuania, Austro-Hungary, Tatars, etc...
