Regrettably, the bulk of the game is still a maze where Samus does her murderscaping.

The password is a coincidence, that the bit pattern happens to pass the checksum and produces a Samus who possesses most of the powerups in the game.

These doors are, of course, the perfect size for Samus to pass through and only her arsenal can open them.

Of course, killing the metroid would doom Samus to a slow death deep underground, but this is not immediately apparent.

It's just a wild coincidence that it happens to yield a Samus unarmored and with most of the powerups in the game.

I'll just bring another Nintendo saga as an example, Metroid which the main character is Samus Aran.

Too many special circumstances in the ice or rock that somehow awaited Samus showing up at just the right time with the right weapon.

Samus is hardly an exception; put into a suit that erases secondary sexual characteristics, the question of gender was (in the first game) left until the last possible minute, as nothing more than a "gotcha." In future games, Samus's gender is still hidden behind the suit.

I guess it was "cool" that Samus was revealed to be a woman at the end, but the race to beat the game to see more of her underwear was an unnecessary bit of game design, IMO.

I'd heard that the "Justin Bailey" password referred specifically to Samus' swimsuit, since "Bailey" is an Australian term for swimsuit, and the password could actually be read "Just In Bailey." So...

Samus Aran (before the crappy game Metroid: Other M) was a true female Action heroine.

Her enemies are generally Kraid, Ridley, Mother Brain, evil Samus(SA-X, Dark Samus) -Samus is constantly repeating work getting the same power-ups and soon losing them after she completes the mission.

Samus Aran is a great character in general, not just a great female character.
