Iceland is shown on the Pangaea map, it is very very very tiny, but it is there.

This area was an inland sea ~250 million years ago (the continents were gathered together in Pangaea at the time).

For example the hottest period ever was during time of Pangaea supercontinent, which was largely desert.

I've never known why Pangaea was stable for billions of years, then broke up in fire and death 200M years ago.

I was surprised to learn that Pangaea is believed to have formed and broke up at least five times so far.

Except for figuring out about Pangaea and continental drift.

Some odd and unsupported claims in that article, such as the assertion that the breakup of Pangaea caused an explosion of life due to more phosphorus becoming available.

And so we have Pangaea before continental drift.

I would hate for the unimaginable denizens of Pangaea Ultima, toiling through their 28 hour days [1] to miss out on totality for a mere 'ring of fire' eclipse.

We wrote an in-house editor that let us create and animate the different cratons, starting with the Pangaea configuration (basically all cratons stuck together as a giant continent) all the way through to how they are arranged now, to simulate how they moved historically.

That's just a fact, and I'm not really interested in debating it or any various fringe theories of how some people think things ought to work, anymore than I have an interest in debating Pangaea existed or that the sky during daylight generally appears blue to humans.

Googling "pangaea animation" gives you many video demos of just that.

Pangaea "only" existed for around 135 million years.

The former is something like Pangaea, the latter describes human exodus from Africa.

Pangaea was dry because of its unique geography which prevented moist air from coasts to move around the continent.

With the break-up of Pangaea, sections of the former range remained with the continents as they drifted to their present locations.
