I am using Corman Lisp on my Windows machine for Windows-specific stuff and Jane before I heard of Owl and Otus Lisp.

I am generally pretty fast with lenses that were designed to do manual focus, like Zeiss Otus and Milvus lenses for Canon (For example).

I have enjoyed using Gambit Scheme (and Schemes living on top of Gambit) for years, and Otus looks like a good tool for similar use cases.

Had a really good camera & lenses for the day (Hasselblad X1D II with Zeiss Otus and Canon TS-E 17mm), and then post was mostly reducing colors besides brown/green/red hues a bit.

There is a significant difference between what the Otus Lisp version: > Any sufficiently complicated program contains an ad-hoc, informally-specified, bug-ridden, slow implementation of half of some Lisp dialect.

Stumbled upon Otus Lisp / Owl-Lisp while looking for a sh/lua replacement for OpenWrt - the small footprint and architecture independend binary format as well as the FFI for.so files are looking great for that.

The old Sony 55mm f1.8 (which I count to be in the class of 50 mms) is still sensibly sized (less than 300 grams) although a bit prone to flares but otherwise quite close to Otus class sharpness.

+ mostly complete really tiny R7RS-Scheme (including a http server - for a complete web-framework look Bubo - written in Otus Lisp!) + really simple FFI + lots of samples like Android App or OpenGL games including OpenGL/SDL/..

Bindings + compileable to binary via c (Owl-Lisp can spit out native c code via it's compiler, maybe Otus can do the same, but i think porting code wouldn't be so hard) I can't speak for the performance, the R7RS Benchmark is not working because of a missing prelude i think, the procedures for read and everything else should be there..

The trend is towards Sigma Art / Zeiss Milvus/Otus dimensions, and that means much better edge sharpness but ~1kg in weight.

That means that the Zeiss Batis, Milvus, Otus, and Loxia lenses are all gone.
