It seems the author, Alec Nevala-Lee, of the biography _Inventor of the Future_ about Buckminster Fuller, would agree with you.

I'm reading a fascinating biography of some of the science fiction writers that produced the so-called "golden age," called _Astounding_ by Alec Nevala-Lee.

There's a recent history book out called "Astounding" by Alec Nevala-Lee if people are interested in how the the science fiction scene in the 1930s and 1940s brought together scientists and mystics, including Jack Parsons, the JPL rocket scientist who also was into the occult, the science fiction writer Heinlein, and the chemist/writer Isaac Asimov.

Also, "Nevala-Lee himself treats of that selfishness, banality, and prurience rather indifferently, as though it neither shocked nor repelled him." I don't think the book reviewer intended that as praise, but it surely sounds like a positive aspect of a biography to me.
