Fabric was in use in projects like Lync Server and Service Bus Server, but no one could talk openly about it.

We have Lync as a company wide (1000s) community messenger but for small teams this works great for collaboration of small groups.

I've worked in places where we had total Outlook integration with Lync and I enjoyed using that stuff much more.

It cracks me up that on Office 365, Microsoft has a Lync auto discover protocol that uses https but the certificates have name mismatches.

I currently only have Chrome, Outlook, and Lync open and am using 4.2 GB of RAM.

VS is nice, Windows domain works well enough and lync, outlook, fiddler, slack etc.

Link, Linq, and Lync sound exactly the same when spoken.

Is it me or does Microsoft just need to get a decent persistent group chat in office365/lync/skype for business along with a decent api for integrations.

If you're in a Lync meeting, or on the phone, or have set "do not disturb," your light will be red.

So sentences like: "let me send you the linq link on lync" occur.

"enterprise skype" is just a renamed microsoft lync and has nothing to do with the real skype besides branding nonsense.

It worked really well...as long as your collaborators were also on Lync.

Lync has some good video/screensharing stuff, but slack is more reliable and provides a great search history feature, which is the killer feature IMO.

Companies pay for GotoMeeting, Webex, Lync, voip video calls, etc for a reason.
