laggards

Generally speaking (again, my anecdotal experience), the UK as a whole are tech laggards compared to the US.

They would have then asked people (not laggards, but people they already think might be interested) if their MVP has legs.

For the laggards, well, you might need an adapter or two, but it's still more portable than a thicker and heavier laptop.

Laggards would probably look to others for validation before buying a product, so if you attempt to sell directly to laggards you already need to have a validated, well vetted, & well supported product.

My advice is that unless you enjoy creating stuff for technology laggards (i.e.

Why should I, as a consumer, continue to use your product when you would care about laggards more than me?

Assume that talent is normally distributed - maybe you have 1 superstar and 1 idiot, 10 high performers and 10 laggards, and 100 average developers.

By the same standards we should be locking out apple laggards this time around?

If it takes laggards three years instead of the usual two to jump from Java 9 to Java 10, I don't care.

In order to successfully sell to laggards (out side of a fly by night type of operation) a well vetted & supported product needs to exist.

I'm probably being a bit verbose here, but I don't think selling to laggards is the best strategy for selling tech products/services.

In order to profitably get to a well vetted & supported product one would have to go through the entire product cycle before selling to the laggards.

We have now mostly definitely hit in "Laggards" part in the technological adoption curve.

So the laggards never rally find out that's it's "ok" to stack VMs.

But he says that a flag day means they "hate their users." No, it would mean they are going to firewall off the damage laggards can do to their environment and ecosystem.

And then, laggards (well, you're probably more of an "early majority" type of person in Crossing the Chasm lingo) will see enough value to join.
