Nothing even comes close to Koel when it comes to the self-hosted music server category in terms of UX.

In a nutshell, Koel allows you to host and play your own music (imagine Spotify, but with your own mp3 collection).

If you can self host, I finally found that koel did a relatively decent job covering my old gmusic patterns.

I also manage a Koel instance so I can stream the files from wherever I want.

I had not heard of koel or ampache until today, but choices will always be welcomed.

I finally found a docker music server called koel which has a playlist generator that just works for my use case.

I have been using Koel for a few months on my server.

I finally found a good enough replacement for Google Music in koel.

And Koel is great but, if I ever decide to move to another utility I'll probably lose playlists or have to convert them over.

I wonder if one could drop Koel on a webserver and use a cloud service like Box.com, Dropbox, Google Drive/Nearline to serve the MP3 files?

So instead of being able to use a wide variety of clients with established providers like jellyfin or plex etc., I’d be limited to koel’s app only?

Dubbed "Koel Player," it's a music player for Koel, the open-source music streaming server that I've been working on for a couple of years now.

I wouldn't mind if it was a humble project, but the website is full of marketing BS, including "Koel is a music streaming solution that actually works™"

Last week I witnessed a Yellow Vented Bulbul scolding a Female Asian Koel in a nearby tree and wondered what the relationship was, after looking into it it appears that the Koel is a "Brood Parasite" that lays it's eggs in the nests of other birds.

Koel is an awesome product and a great base for any music streaming app or home media server.

Koel does a great job replicating the functionality of Spotify or iTunes with your music library.

As a matter of fact, Koel’s client interface is a shameless rip-off of Spotify’s.
