These are the psychoactive compounds found in plants like henbane, mandrake, angel's trumpets, jimsonweed (datura) and nightshade (belladonna).

Black henbane is indigenous to Europe and Asia and belongs to the Solanaceae family — the nightshades.

Henbane is the outlier but could be used externally and its purpose in navigation is fascinating.

Henbane's active ingredient is scopolamine which, as with most strong anti-cholinergics, is a really bad trip.
