Will add my own: the first three essays are somewhat accessible but after that the author is talking to the echo chamber which is his regular blog audience.

This may be the source (though the people involved have said as much in other essays and interviews).

This is a great collections of essays, I'd say bed time reading for the budding entrepreneur and/or VC.

It's worrisome that they're not reading the essays based on this specific post.

This is too long and I strongly dislike what has been written in the first few essays.

To write a series of essays that don't have to respond to "the community" and get weighed down by reaction.

Re: Essay vs Blog -- I had the good fortune to come across "American Essays"[1] edited by Charles B.

The best exposition I can recall is one of Paul Graham's earlier essays, "Keep Your Identity Small"[0].

It might have been "a collection of essays" -- and I don't think we're really trending towards "a series of TV channels".
