Here's wondering if the gossip mongers like Nick Denton might have to pay the price for their tomfoolery.

The fact that Nick Denton eventually took down this post of course does not matter at all.

My guess is that old Nick Denton wants something out of Conde Nast, and that is why he is applying full pressure.

Then again, there's people like Michael Moritz and Nick Denton out there.

The only agenda Nick Denton promotes is filling his wallet.

However there is the Nick Denton school of thought.

My impression was that Denton mostly does that with people who essentially work to oppress gay people (right-wing politicians, Fox journalists, and so on and so forth), and, yeah, I'm fine with that.

And Gawker sells "up yours, squares" because that's what sells, not because Nick Denton is interested in promoting some kind of agenda.

Furthermore, in an interview in pando daily, an ex Gawker editor said that Nick Denton once complained to him that silicon valley companies "do not fear me anymore." For someone that has followed Gawker for many years now it is becoming increasingly likely that Nick Denton is using Gawker to scare/blackmail other companies to do his bidding.

A) you can't take something back on the Internet, you can only discuss and move on from it, and B) Denton isn't sorry for posting, and his tone amounts to "I would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for you meddling kids." Ever since Gizmodo got kicked out of CES for drunken stupidity I have not respected Gawker.

Denton ( of Gawker Media ) routinely shames public personalities for being clandestine about their sexuality.

A city directly north of the DFW metro, Denton, has actually banned fracking all together.

Or journalists will scandalize the executive pay and severances, nevermind that Nick Denton's and Anna Wintour's paychecks and perks are probably far more offensive.
