On the assumption that we're defining socialism as "everything Stalin, Kim Jong Il, and Ceausescu did", I'll take a similar tack in the opposite direction and contend that capitalism is responsible for the American incursion into Vietnam, Watergate, and Abu Ghraib (since they were all carried out by a capitalist country).

When did it become crazy to "...have an explanatory proposition that accuses two or more persons, a group, or an organization of having caused or covered up, through secret planning and deliberate action, an illegal or harmful event or situation." Watergate, Iran-contra, prism, the cia drug trafficking during Vietnam, Cia torture programs.

Once it did get out, it would presumably be a truly Watergate-level scandal, since you suggest behavior similar to Watergate.

The best solution would be to produce content nobody else has - but that means doing real journalism (which has not happened since Watergate).

Watergate didn't require any theory - people connected with the Nixon administration were caught red-handed breaking and entering.
