It's too bad Vivaldi tracks all of its users with no opt out possibility, could have been interesting.

Since Opera and Vivaldi are both Chromium-based, it's not surprising to see sidebars getting into upstream.

Because Opera, Vivaldi and other browsers use Blink but likely wouldn't have hotword.

I tried Vivaldi on OS X last week and I have to say I was quite impressed.

All my hopes go to the Vivaldi browser now.

Just tried Vivaldi on Mac and it shows roughly about the same process and thread usage for tabs as Chrome so probably not the answer to battery life.

I also have IE, FF, Opera and Vivaldi on my machine.

Yeah, about developing tools, I still have a faint hope that Opera's Dragonfly (which is open-source, I hear) will someday be implemented to either Vivaldi or Chropera.

Using an uncommon browser for something like banking (Opera or Vivaldi or something) would be a pretty good solution because no one would have bothered to develop the hooks for them, unless the malware is keylogging, which is not uncommon but less popular now than the smarter solution of watching browser form submits on known bank websites.

Vivaldi manages to be much more Opera-ish than the current Opera, but for me it's currently at the "missing that one feature" state.

I would go from my current Firefox with 20 gazillon extensions bolted on setup to Vivaldi despite that latter's current flaws (ugly as sin, no customisable toolbars etc) if only it had the "Click on tab to minimise" checkbox.

Briefly reminded me of Vivaldi, a browser built in NodeWebKit (or Atom?) with a React-based UI.

Vivaldi, a browser made by ex-Opera employees, does this too: base the browser-UI on web technologies.

On side note; I envy the employees of Vivaldi, since they are now getting Yngves famous chocolate cake.
