Sign in using the same account on another device, and your Vesper data will appear on that device.

First, you create a Vesper Sync account using an email address and a password.

Another is that Vesper allows you to reorder notes by drag and drop -- move unimportant notes down, move important ones up.

I have no idea what Vesper is and after looking at the website, I still have no idea.

I'm super, super excited about the Vesper update, and can't wait for the OS X app to role out.

I've read Brent Simmons articles on how he did syncing for vesper, and it seems like he's done it well.

Love the way the Vesper team does stuff slowly, deliberately, and beautifully.

I would only argue that iCloud is not a good fit for all apps, and Vesper is one of them.

But we want Vesper to appeal to everyone, including people who don't know what Dropbox is or don't want it.

Simplenote offers more functionality than Vesper at the cost of complexity.

Then, your Vesper data — the text of your notes, your image attachments, your tags, everything — syncs to our cloud service.

But with iCloud, you have to choose between document syncing and Core Data -- neither of which is a perfect fit for the way Vesper is designed.

I admire the clarity of Gruber's writing, and I'm very happy that Vesper is honest about their capabilities w/r/t/ decrypting notes stored on their server, but "salted and hashed" was an unforced error.

Another approach though are apps like Vesper - It's "another" notepad app - but the developers (Q Branch's John Gruber, Brent Simmons, and Dave Wiskus), took months and months to polish and refine till it creates a totally different notepad experience (and, in my opinion, the best one on the iPhone) - isn't it good that they had the opportunity to build something in the notepad category, in a different way?

Vesper is a simple and elegant tool for collecting notes, ideas, things to do — anything you want to remember.

Big picture, though, we consider sync so essential to Vesper's long-term success that we wanted to control it.

Simplenote has clients for major platforms and the web, unlike Vesper's iPhone only setup.
