I'm sure hystry'll be back once PG's given us a timeout:) And it's a well-deserved timeout.

Ruby's Capybara encapsulates Selenium and waits until elements appear on the page (the default timeout is 2 seconds).

Also, the author doesn't mention it, but you can also set a custom cache timeout with the valid=Xs option.

With a timeout, you have to factor in latency, which is necessarily error prone.

Basically, deadline is a context-free timeout.

But despite that I commonly have standing to file an ADA complaint, because my most-pressing concern when I am denied work over my mental illness is that I find some other job, I always let the timeout expire.

Forgive me for asking, but how is "no default timeout" a sensible default for any technology?

Is this too difficult to implement based on simple but sane "timeout" rules?
