Your Tarot of the Silicon Dawn is one of my absolute favorite Tarot decks I have ever owned (out of 50+).

Which is a polite way of saying they're the equivalent of crystal balls and tarot.

It is like the medical equivalent of tarot card reading: Do you ever feel tired?

The results are as vague as a Tarot card reading, for the same reasons.

The problem for me is that this kind of Tarot card thinking is also now to be found in your local workplace.

Personally I get a lot of value out of Tarot because I love the flexibility of the concepts.

Potatoes are common today, but traditional vegetables like tarot and radishes are too.

You start recognizing empresses and pages of pentacles wherever you go because the ideas go so far back - long before Tarot was invented.

It seems a mistake to see these as tarot cards or the I Ching, etc.

This isn't a tarot card or horoscope button or something.

If you don't care about the truth you can use Tarot cards or Ouija tables, that are cheaper and least wasteful than a bunch of Ph.

I thought that " use Tarot cards or Ouija tables " was enough to mark the rest of the sentence as ironic.

Until it gains some serious momentum where it could successfully be forked and seriously maintained by the open source community at large, at this point it's a Microsoft product, and you have no choice but to trust their support and openness, so you can't hand wave away the trust issue as "Tarot card thinking".

We'd prefer this last leg of the project to be flat rate..." It's definitely not right - and as a contractor your should read the tarot cards and have had preparations in place so it wouldn't happen - but you'd be amazed at how often variations of this scheme work out with PMs and procurement at larger companies that should really know better.

What I dislike about evolutionary psychology is that it often tries to use the word "scientific" for explanations that are really "just so." I suppose it's an improvement that the explanation made to fit "just so" fits with a vaguely scientific worldview rather than consulting the bones, tea leaves, tarot, or astrological charts.
