Now, for slashdot, the slashdot crowd definitely has some responsibility.

Try as they might, there has never been a mass exodus from Slashdot or anywhere else to Soylent.

Until that happens, Slashdot still posses a much more robust bully pulpit from which to popularize a modernized Slashcode.

Post-Snowden, too many of Reddit and Slashdot crowd ended up there with what results from that.

Many websites across the Internet are ad-free when you pay for it, such as Ars Technica [1] and Slashdot [2].

It would be nice to have something akin to browsing at +5 on slashdot.

I was on Slashdot for a very long time and witnessed many changes of ownership.

I went to Slashdot through the link above which led me back to HN.

I think above all else, the Slashdot team should start shooting for that again.

Seems to be down, probably due to slashdot etc.

I can't read about women coders on places like Slashdot or HN without the legions of comments about how feminism is evil and women are inferior.

Surely we've moved past 2002 era Slashdot polemics.

Ostensibly, any "bashing Windows for UI/Updates/Privacy/whatever reasons" (which is an extremely odd way to say "criticism of Windows") is now equivalent to a Slashdot polemic?

There are a lot more "news" esk hardware design places as well but I'm assuming you're looking closer to stack overflow/github of HDL rather than the slashdot/reddit of HDL?

Slashdot's relevance may be fading year after year, but it still has plenty left.

Slashdot was awesome 10 or 15 years ago, but is an empty shell today.

This is the type of content I would expect on Reddit or Slashdot, but not HN.
