Interestingly, the steel cables used by the cable cars are actually wrapped around a sisal rope.

A little like being wrapped in burlap or sisal twine.

I’ve had to replace it because they clawed through the scratching post legs ( all the way through the cardboard underneath the sisal rope).

I think a reference counting garbage collector makes parallelism hard to implement, Cpython is perhaps an example of that, whereas Sisal is a counterexample.

Include one language that supports class abstractions (like Java or C++), one that supports functional abstraction (like Lisp or ML), one that supports syntactic abstraction (like Lisp), one that supports declarative specifications (like Prolog or C++ templates), one that supports coroutines (like Icon or Scheme), and one that supports parallelism (like Sisal).
