I seem to remember an article in Sinclair User where they interviewed the developers who explained how they got it all to fit into such a small machine.

First thing to pop in to my head after reading your comment is this Upton Sinclair quote: "It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends on his not understanding it." It's a bit like wishing slaughterhouse workers would start to consider the animal's feelings and spend more time thinking about them.

As Upton Sinclair said, "It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends upon his not understanding it!" It is important to remember an unfortunately large subset of the people making those arguments - including far too many people here at HN - are profiting from the status quo.

Given other comments here, i find myself once more reminded of Upton Sinclair.

The Tao for me was: Timex Sinclair, Vic-20, C-128 and Amiga 500.

I have a real fascination for this Cambrian period of computing, even though I came into it via the strange world of home computers (Sinclair).
