But then why Pluto rather than Eris which is considerably further than Pluto or Sedna which is even further?

We've been building our own internal tooling (leveraging the Claude API) on top of Sedna to help automate different workflows.

Obviously Sedna is too far and too slow for anything else.

Even further out, Sedna has an extremely-high eccentricity of 0.855 due to its estimated aphelion of 937 AU and perihelion of about 76 AU >...

Given how Sedna reaches so far away (>500AU), I wonder if the flyby would also reveal some details about conditions that distant.

And apparently Sedna is also an Oort Cloud object?

Okay, well leaving aside how this cannon is going to burn the propellant without oxygen, the delta-v to Pluto from LEO is 8.2 km/s, so Sedna will be a little bit more.

However, there are actually some other points of interest along the way (between Pluto and Proxima Centauri), including Eris, 90377 Sedna and Voyager 1, to name a (non-exhaustive) few.

It's interesting how two very remote dwarf planets with widely different orbits are so close to each other right now (90377 Sedna and 2012 VP133).

That's a reasonable assumption, but given Sedna's unusual orbit, its origin could also be quite different from Pluto's.

Planet 9 is a separate concept to explain the bunching of Kuiper Belt objects, like Sedna.

Sedna's perihelion is ~76 AU - more than twice as far as Pluto, which took New Horizons nearly a decade to reach.
