A person working in London cannot live like a person working in Preston (for the same amount).

I am not making the claim that a London worker earning double a Preston worker is a problem.

It's perhaps old fashioned, both my granddads were from Preston and used it a lot but rarely hear it nowadays among young folk from Lancashire.
