How much did my computer science/economics/poli-sci education help me in the real world as a programmer/software developer?

In general, poli-sci or history majors have spent the previous four years idling.

I doubt it is the case but if your fantasy turns out to be correct they would also deserve some poli sci props.

I too have a humanities degree (poli sci) and as I've become more experienced the critical thinking and communication aspects have been extremely helpful.

I took a poli-sci class covering war a(n increasingly long) while back.

R is taught specifically because it is a statistical analysis language, which is what a Poli Sci student can expect to be doing a lot of after school.

However, I struggle to believe an industry with a career path starting freshman year has more variance in ability than a technical field pulling poli-sci majors off the curb to fill seats.

The site would cross reference stated platforms of politicians vs their actual voting actions as transparently analyzed by up to 3 university poli sci and history professors one each from conservative / liberal / historial context point of view.

The problem for public schools is that there are a million grads with degrees in social work, poli sci, pyschology, sociology, grievance studies (womens studies, etc), and other fake sciences, many of them ready and willing to be teachers.

I know that if I went to college, a lot of what I know would be repeated To paraphrase Hamlet (which is the kind of thing poli sci majors are required by law to do), "there are more things in a good CS program, tanishalfelven, than are dreamt of in your philosophy." No matter how much you've learned in four years of self-directed learning, I can almost guarantee there's a lot more stuff you haven't learned.

I'm referring to "soft sciences" like social work, psychology, sociology, [grievance] studies, poli sci, etc, as opposed to the humanities: history, mathematics, philosophy, classics, fine arts, etc.
