Did Phoenicia know this was going to happen, and made an alliance that history has long since lost?

Since they had already invented creating purple back in Phoenicia (modern day Lebanon), they simply brought over their traditions/skills along.

Traders or miners from Phoenicia visited Egyptian quarries and saw this squiggles on walls.

What if it wasn't at our scale but more like late 1800s europe and limited to regions like phoenicia, mesopotamia or the mediterranean coast.

Growing up in Europe Phoenicia and Carthage were covered extensively in school.

My guess for phoenicia is that their alphabet comes from numbers (or maybe other smaller individual set of symbols) borrowed from another culture, but I wouldn't be able to determine from who or where.

I understand that if Jordan remained themselves "Canaan" or "Phoenicia" then Israel, Palestine, & Lebanon might object.
