The web site for the little antique bookstore in downtown Padova really doesn't - it doesn't even handle money.

Here in Padova there are everything from Roman ruins (and they've dug up even older stuff) to modern buildings.

It's a little bit bigger than I happen to care for (I like the size of Padova a lot), but without all things a really big, important city has.

Venice is neat, but Italy is 'fractally' interesting and beautiful, and there are interesting things even in small, out of the way places, such as some of the castles that at one point formed the border between the city states of Padova and Verona.

I live in Padova, and it's nice, although I think if someone isn't going to spend a long time in Italy, and wants "the Italian experience", I'd go with somewhere like Perugia, even if it's harder to get to.
