I mentioned Ojibway because in the discussion around this, there has been a feeling in the first nations that a push towards a wider adoption of Ojibway might be acceptable.

Adding Ojibway as an official language (either federally, or mandate the provinces provide services in the predominant native language of that territory).

Just sounds ridiculous when Ojibway is not even the most spoken aboriginal language.

Anim comes from an Ojibway (Native American) word meaning thunderbird.

This one has a few ojibway terms but is in english while I also read Plums or Nuts by Larry Amik Smallwood and Michael Migizi Sullivan Sr.

I can't do as well but these are my favorites this year(ish): * Fur Trade Nation by Carl Gawboy - a graphical history of the Ojibway nation between 1650 and 1850.

This sudden cooling event may have been caused by the collapse of the Laurentide ice sheet in northeastern North America, probably when the Ojibway and Agassiz glacial lakes suddenly emptied into the North Atlantic Ocean.

I've done solo trips in a 16' 4" Pinetree Ojibway 32" beam canoe in Lake Superior and a number of river systems.

They are chosen primarily for language learning reasons but they are also nice "slice of life" stories and I recommend it even if you aren't trying to learn ojibway.
