All Megacorps use Shadowrunners but none publically acknowledge their existence or the details of what they do.

In US or China you'll get megacorps while in tiny countries the size will be way smaller.

At megacorps the relationship between the people writing reqs and the actual job are often rather strained.

The good news is that people will finally be able to communicate to each other without the intervention of (several) giant megacorps.

While they may be not technically sovereign entities yet, it seems to me that some megacorps have enough power to successfully compete with governments.

All of them are at megacorps and being paid $200k, which is the same I'd offer.

That said, I am extremely concerned that most popular frameworks/libraries are products of megacorps.

You are absolutely correct and I would love to see a scalable, sustainable community-based solution where languages would be designed for the social value first and megacorps second.

Many of the startups selling to megacorps where the product dies would have been dead in short order anyway, and I wouldn't assume everyone is getting a big payday.

Shadowrun's future describes a collapsing of the middle class, combination of corporation & state (zero distinction), lots of poor folks and "shadowrunners" who do the dirty work for the megacorps (stealing data, assassinate, etc).

Also, while sharing innovation "blueprints" is definitely a net positive for the ecosystem, I think it disproportionally benefits the megacorps, while indies and middle-sized tech businesses are being slowly squeezed out.

UI is getting worse (for all these megacorps that harvest all the "automated feedback" they can) and I don't consume advertising and even if I did, the "targeted ads" are irrelevant pretty much all the time.

Generally, if there's a "squeeze" it's the small to mid sized businesses getting bought out by megacorps to fill needs, which, is usually an encouraged outcome for some of them because they aren't going to "get big" otherwise and scale up to the point where they have more than minute impact.

Megacorps reap the benefits while indie developers are not able to achieve critical mass.
