The article is about two things: Kareem & Bruce, and Kareem & racism.

It was Kareem Abdul -Jabbar who trained with Bruce Lee.

After all, Bruce was the sensei and Kareem the student.

Kudos to Kareem (and Ed) for many things.

But then you posted several more times about your skepticism without going to kareem's page to double check your skepticism, which I thought was unfair.

The protagonist with Vietnam flashbacks would obviously have to be altered, you couldn't have skits about Ronald Reagan - nobody knows who he is, nor do they know who Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is.

(I remember once reading that Kareem Abdul Jabbar was born at the perfect time and place to become exactly what he was meant to be: a basketball player.

Incidentally, for anyone that didn’t know, the film Airplane was an almost shot for shot remake of a film called Zero Hour [1] and the copilot in the original film was a famous NFL player (Elroy ‘Crazy Legs’ Hirsch), hence why they’ve got Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to play the copilot in Airplane.

It seems funnier with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar because at 7’2” the idea he’d be able to slyly get away with moonlighting as an airline pilot is even more ridiculous!
