Just like the idiots who are careless with fireworks and then states ban them, the idiots have ruined it.

Those diseases killed and maimed - only idiots without understanding of history and suffering would oppose vaccination programs.

However, publicly calling Gordon Brown a "one-eyed Scottish idiot" certainly was intentionally offensive, which you can conclude from the Royal National Institute of Blind People being offended by the comparison, the Scots being offended by the comparison, and the association of idiots probably being somewhere trying to prepare a statement about being offended.

If at least some people with actual mental disabilities find the use of the term (as a substitute for similar phrases like "idiots" or "dummies", not as a direct smear against people with mental disabilities) inappropriate and hurtful, I fully agree that we shouldn't be using it.

Idiots can learn it in 21 days, even if they are dummies.
