I hope there's a mad scientist somewhere, making a cross-genetic venus flytrap that also produces capsaicin and nicotine.

This is the same flytrap that catches liberals who rush in to defend Chomsky or Žižek after they make a vague and absent-minded claim.

I had the idea that maybe it was actually a flytrap for large companies!

While parasitoid oviposition is extremely ordinary (in fact, by far the most common reproductive habit by species count) in wasps, these 'Venus flytrap,' 'labioid' accessory structures are almost totally novel among not just wasps but all insects.

The ordinary fungus in the air, which has a tough time invading grass or tree or tobacco or pepper roots (because they have extensive defences, like capsaicin), lands in the rich soil of pretty-much helpless flytrap roots, and has a buffet.

While there are a few plants capable of infrequent fast movements, like the Venus flytrap, they use special tricks for creating tension in an elastic structure, like when drawing a bow, which would not be suitable for sustaining a sequence of movements.

It currently works by letting hosted users forward spam messages to a flytrap account, and then the daemon runs, reads the forwarded message, tracks down the original in the user's mail directory, does a whois on the origin in the mail headers, consults its logs, and then adds a temporary network-wide blackhole to iptables.

Abgoosht/Dizi is my favorite Iranian dish - but unfortunately the only place in SF that serves it is Flytrap, in SoMa.

I tried it recently and it's not quite the traditional Dizi that one might hope for (Flytrap is kind of fusion-Persian food).
