There have been so many other things that have been horribly crippled because 'internet explorer doesn't support it'.

Microsoft was caught with their pants down returning google search results to microsoft via internet explorer.

Even the icons in Explorer don't match each other (my user directory doesn't match any of the icons beneath it) 4.

The private Explorer will be for internal bug fixes, new features, and design changes.

There are versions of the folder picker that don't even let you paste a path copied from your current open Explorer window.

I agree with you, but why can't this be used as an excuse to kill internet explorer?

XHR was first shipped with Internet Explorer 5 - in March 1999!

Explorer permits you to show menus but they're actually just the tabs on a frustrating ribbon bar 7.

This still doesn't account for Safari or Internet Explorer, the latter being the biggest impediment to adoption.

Likewise with Firefox overtaking Internet Explorer, Thunderbird being the first to stand in for Outlook, and gcc has been the compiler of choice for years.
