Let's put the Ermine back in determine and stop weaseling our way out of deterministic systems.

Check out ermine[1], a language for the JVM that was written for exactly that reason.

Scala is far from perfect, to be sure; even ten years in the future I'd expect/hope there will be a better option, whether that's Ceylon, Fantom, Ermine or something else.

(I don't think Scala's a thousand-year language, but I think Kotlin drops too much of what makes it good; I'd look to the likes of Ermine as a potential future replacement.

Poland does this for their Leonardo (Lady With An Ermine).

I've tried many different attempts at browser-local speech-to-text from Ermine.ai to Google's Tensorflow.js speech toolkit (recognition only), and this is the best I've seen.
