Cingular itself started as a conglomeration of 100+ regional carriers, before a few more mergers made Cingular into the new AT&T.

The deal Apple made with Cingular seems to be far too advantageous for Apple.

It was the business relationship with the cell phone carrier Cingular (and then AT&T).

Who is dragging what through the mud with Cingular and AT&T?

Also, LLC has no limitation on foreign ownership or ownership by another corporation (Until it became AT&T again, Cingular was a LLC owned by SBC and BellSouth).

I typically work with largish teams on very large websites (cingular.com, jcrew.com, ulta.com, pcavote.com, etc...).

IMO we all have Apple and Cingular to thank for that.

When they first struck a deal with Cingular one of my first thoughts was they were picking a carrier that was within their reach to purchase down the road.

Sounds like that failed takeover bid was the 2nd best thing that AT&T did for US mobile customers in recent history (the iPhone deal with their Cingular subsidiary being the most impactful).

When you submit your info, make sure you tell them: 1) The cell # affected, including if it's a "blue" (refers to Pre-AT&T, pre-Cingular, AT&T Wireless) number or "orange" (Cingular) number if you know.

When I lived in Chicago I had the previous incarnation which was known as "Cellular One" aka "Hellular One" and then Cingular, and it sucked then too.

What would make sense would be for Avago to do a VW/Audi or Cingular/ATT thing and assume Broadcom's branding.

Remember: five years of exclusivity is virtually the only thing Apple had to offer Cingular.

AT&T Wireless is literally Cingular, rebranded (announced at the iPhone keynote, no less).
