I was talkign to the head of Google Boulder when he mentioned they can't even get engineers hired there.

I really do love switzerland, but a proper comparison would be to say, Marin County or Boulder or La Jolla.

With that said, I was in Boulder last winter and was running early for a meeting.

I think he lives in Boulder in quite a nice house and drives a minivan.

Google moving to Boulder is sort of a mixed bag, and there is a number of people who are not looking forward to them coming.

It has a lot of the benefits of Boulder plus an ocean not too far away (but further from an airport and major metropolitan area).

It's hard to believe I may have useful information about this, but I used to know a guy from the University of Colorado at Boulder who was getting his master's degree in bassoon performance by day and sneaking out to the physics lab at night to work on machining reed-making equipment.

The mountain side is still more distant than in Boulder, but "different country" means a different thing in Europe.

For example, when somebody asks "what do you do" in Boulder, Colorado, they might be asking which outdoor sport do you do when you're not working.

Imagine living in a large (fictional) cultural and tech hub in the plains 100 miles east of Boulder.
