If the bulk is onion it’s called a bhaji, otherwise pakora.

Then, there is bhaji which means fried veggies.

But some people also call potato fritters as bhaji.

Once I taste the product, I might just submit a pav bhaji recipe.

From Samosas and gol gappas to Pav bhaji to Shahi Paneer to the more European style cuisine like french fries, burgers and even the Chinese cuisine like spring roll, finger chips and momos are all vegetarian food.

Whether katsu (Portuguese), massaman curry (Persian), pav bhaji (Portuguese again), guilty American pleasures like General Tso's (Taiping-era Chinese refugees), or your favorite Vietnamese patisserie (out-French the French), these collisions seem to produce great things.

"Bhaji" was a word I personally thought was fairly common.

None of the tourist places served pav bhaji (or "baji pao" as I'd understood him to call it) but when I found the little hole-in-the-wall place he directed me to I was rewarded with a new experience, a dish I hadn't tried before, and one I really enjoyed and continued eating for breakfast during the remainder of my short stay.

Bhaji is a bit of an unexpected word (or, I learned a new word:) ).

Bhaji and Pakora seem to be interchangeable in British-Indian cuisine.
