Within the berber culture a lot of marriages happen between closely related family members, resulting in a worse gene pool.

In Morocco, kids may speak Berber at home, Arabic on the street, French in school.

The Arab and Berber tribes never engaged in mass migration or anything like that.

I believe current evidence is that the Berber peoples have been in North Africa at least 12,000 years.
