There are millions of boards (yahoofinance, cnbc, barrons, stocktwits, bogleheads, ft, you name it) which provide no accuracy ratings for any of their commenters, bloggers and ppl can do what you are suggesting their as well.

I can't help but think people are constructing a caricature of the man, based on a very limited understanding, and heavily influenced by their own preconceived biases and generic "Robber Barrons, evil, muwahahahaha" stereotypes.

If you go a bit deeper and look at the news article from back in the day, some of the most well known journalist that were attacking the 'Robber Barrons' were actually relatives of the companys that were getting crushed.

Real inflation-- which is defined as growth in the money supply- would show that the price of gas has declined strongly over this period-- primarily because of the effects of the "robber barrons" who drove down prices to gain market share, and because productivity has made gas a much safer and easier item to get from oil...

It's happened in America during the days of the Robber Barrons, where child labor, an 80-hour work week, workers being literally chained to their desks in sweatshops, the abominable conditions described in Sinclair's "The Jungle", no worker safety regulations in the workplace, and no environmental regulations were quite common.
