Prefer ales myself;) Especially real ales from England!

There are other aspects of brewing American lagers that could make them more expensive than typical microbrewed ales.

In that case they simply bought the brewery which was already successful and produced a few award winning ales.

What I'm talking about are the "real ales" of England.

Many craft ales have such strong flavor (without correlation to strong abv necessarily) that make it difficult to drink faster than sipping and in large quantity, unlike the macrobrews that are intended to go down easily with minimal flavor, more for "drunking" than "drinking", an important distinction.
