Lately i always thought that Whatsapp was becoming the next facebook as event planning, foto sharing and of course messaging transitioned from fb to whatsapp.

Look at WhatsApp - it does exactly this - your phone number is your ID and your contacts is your social graph; how you interact with them - who you call, message etc and when / where you do it - these are your circles Meanwhile if you look at the direction Apple is going, eg new APIs for iCloud eg fingerprint authentication, new APIs for foto management / sharing etc etc.

Not to mention drag-and-drop support, which is why I don't use a webmail client as my main vehicle for email (which allows some nice workflow together with Exposé) I'm also used to the excellent inline PDF viewing, quicklook for attached foto's and documents and the data detectors for addresses and phone numbers.

I made an app called "Foto Lock" which allows a user to choose a photo from their camera roll and disabled the ability to swipe to the next photo -- which would prevent those awkward moments of someone seeing a taboo photo.
