I don’t knit well, but I do tatting, and original vintage patterns are often woefully incomplete, there seemed to be this expectation that you knew the basics and could work out what was missing yourself.

For what it's worth, I'm not super comfortable tit-for-tatting your comment, except that this whole thread is about a bunch of people pooping on someone who asked for help, and many of the principles being espoused on that thread are simply bogus.

I think the GP is saying they should allow protectionist policies without "tatting".

Science takes time, and a rational person might wait and see rather than say “fuck it, until you prove it I’m tatting up!” So sure, get a tattoo, but realize that you’re having an unregulated ink shot into your dermis, and elements of that ink can infiltrate systemically.
