The whole concept of Satyagraha (Satya is truth which equals love, and agraha is force; Satyagraha, therefore, means truth force or love force) was profoundly significant to me.

So it was a mixture of all these things + Gandhi's movement that make ahims/satyagraha work.

Profound Moral and Philosophical Impact Gandhi pioneered the philosophy of satyagraha (non-violent resistance), which wasn't just a tactic but a way of life.

Gandhi always kept his copy of the Gita with him and it was his guidebook for his satyagraha movement which led to India's independence.

Jobs turned the act of taking a walk into a management tactic, and Gandhi converted the walk into a political weapon with his salt satyagraha.

His whole idea of Satyagraha was intentionally self-sacrificial for the nonviolent protestors who would die, because he knew it would stir the masses to action.

I saw in later life that this spirit was an essential part of satyagraha.

When I was in high school, my friend got the cassette tape of the first part of Satyagraha stuck in his car stereo.

I've always found Akhnaten a bit bombastic but I love Satyagraha (composed a few years before Akhnaten) and I saw it live last year.

Nobody should learn from Ghandi to be an anti-vaxxer or be a creep, but people should learn about satyagraha and appreciate the immense dedication he put towards it.

But also: The Satyagraha campaign of the 1930s also forced the British to recognise that their control of India depended entirely on the consent of the Indians – Salt Satyagraha was a significant step in the British losing that consent.

Satyagraha works effectively against opponents who are therefore civilized.
